With Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) lessons in place from Reception onwards, our girls are ahead of the curve from day one.
We make STEM engaging and fun; from outings to Cambridge's famous Mathematical Bridge to trips to BT Headquarters to meet life-sized robots, plus visits to the Institute of Astronomy and The National Space Centre.
Our approach works, with girls succeeding in the national RoboCup Junior Championships, where they gain valuable skills such as teamwork, concentration and perseverance.
We have also been shortlisted for a Science and Technology Award for our innovation in STEM education.
Our STEM Co-ordinator works with each year group for one afternoon a week on a specific STEM-related topic, over a half term. They learn to code, to work as a team, to plan, design and construct ideas that become effective systems and products.
All the skills the innovators of tomorrow will need.
Learning in an all-girls environment increases the number of girls who select STEM subjects at university and beyond. Stats from the Girls' School Association, highlight the uptake of STEM subjects in all-girls schools, compared to girls in co-educational settings:
